2023 Terms and Conditions

The book cover briefs are made available as a resource for anyone who would like to experience a real book cover brief first-hand in order to develop their portfolio or as part of their college coursework.

The Cover Design Award is not running as a competition this year and we are not accepting submissions or judging designs and nor will there be any prizes.

We regret that we can not give feedback or any advice on individual designs. Please do not submit designs to us.

By downloading the briefs you acknowledge and agree that the Penguin and Puffin design brief templates, Penguin and Puffin logos and the cover copy supplied in the template packs are the property of Penguin Books Limited (Penguin Property).

Use of any material comprised in the briefs or in the resource page, is limited to use for the purposes of furthering a portfolio or a student’s coursework only. No further use shall be permitted without the Promoter’s prior written consent. The Penguin Property must not be replicated.

Penguin Books Limited will be kept harmless from any claims in alleging that any design infringes the personal or proprietary rights of any other person.
